Is spirituality real or are we just selling some hocus-pocus tricks?
Apr 16, 2022Recently I came across the argument about reality of spirituality. That is a contest that no one can win. But we had a long conversation about the issue. Lot of words but no resolution. I believe there is a reason for us to forget the REAL answer in birth.
Let’s start opening what spirituality is about.
Spirit = the non-physical part of a person which is the seat of emotions and character, the soul.
Spirituality = the quality of being concerned with the human spirit or soul as opposed to material or physical things.
Spirit also has many other meanings from alcohol to name of a gas station. But what is it really, and is it real? In Finnish the translation for a word spirit is henki, meaning a living breath. Breathing is translated in Finnish hengitys. When we study spirit in Finland, we understand that it is related to our breathing.
In our argument, this other person forced me to explain how breathing can activate energy. For him it seemed hocus-pocus because there was no way to measure the process. I understand his point. He was going after the scientifical proving that what I teach and do has some value and effect. Instead of jumping into the cold river he wanted to understand the concept of cold water and was the jumping safe. These are very valuable questions. But they were not enough, he wanted to know if the change he was supposed to experience was scientifically measurable. That I was not able to give or promise him. There is no way to measure change when it happens in that level, with your connection to your soul. But he was curious and that is a start.
Denial of a concept of spirit is very common especially in those who are almost ready to take the step toward the unknown, toward knowing their true self.
But the jumping he had to do by himself, to really KNOW. There is no other way to learn on this Earth but through your own experience. Knowing does not come from the books or scientific researches. That is knowledge. Knowing comes ONLY from your own experience.
When you know yourself there is no need to question other peoples’ reality. You accept their point of view. The questioning is more for those who still look for their own inner self, a path to their soul.
Our conversation ended when I sent him the scientific proof that the breathing truly helps us to feel better, live longer and fuller lives.
Ask questions when you want to know. If instead you want to fight, then go within and calm your mind. After you center yourself, you’ll find a place of peace. When you ask your questions do it with respect, and openness to receive an answer. That is a true communication.
There are few scientific researches made of the power of breathing. Here is one.
